The speakers were Dr RD Lele, Chairperson AACCI and Dr Swati Bhave, Executive director AACCI. There were more than 100 students and teachers. The lectures were on what is metabolic syndrome and the causes of higher incidence of obesity, Diabetes and Hypertension and Heart disease in India and how to prevent these life style disorders by a healthy life style. This applies to children and more so to teenagers.
A Press conference was held on 8th July, 2008. to announce a majoy initiative ebtitled " Healthy Youth Healthy India' Project". The Project first its kind in Indiam will have a possitive impact on the lives of the younger generation in the country. The Project will focus on Prevention of Lifestyle Diseases in Adulthood and Life Skill Education for Adolescents.
